16.2 million children in America struggle with hunger.
Food insecurity remains a problem for many children. Join us to help make a difference!
As families struggle with poverty, it’s extremely difficult to insure
that children receive adequate and healthy food.
Centreville Presbyterian Church (CPC) is reaching out to make a difference with our partner school London Towne Elementary School. LTES is a 1,000 student Kindergarten – 6th grade school in western Fairfax County (Virginia). As a Title I school, many of these students have special needs, including educational, emotional and financial.
CPC is coming alongside the school to help make a difference in the lives of the students, including mentoring, event volunteers, summer reading programs, and the Weekend Food Program. The Weekend Food Program feeds children whose families live below the poverty line and have limited resources. As the result of the Weekend Food Program, children return to school on Monday having had a weekend with better nutrition and better prepared to learn.
The weekly cost of the Weekend Food Program is approximately $450. We purchase food items in bulk and typically spend $5 per child. With your previous donations and resources from the Fresh Start Campaign, we have been able to continue this program. But now….
Our Weekend Food program is in need of funds to complete remainder of the 2022-23 school year.
Would you be able to help with the LTES Weekend Food Program?
If you are able to donate, please give online (choose “LTES donation” in drop-down menu) or make checks payable to “CPC” and include “LTES Weekend Food” in the memo line. Thank you so much!
100% of all donations go toward the purchase of food for the children.
