Serving week of November 3

Thanksgiving Feast. We have a unique opportunity to serve the ENGLISH CLASS community of London Towne Elementary School. We will be hosting a Thanksgiving feast for the, their families and the CPC volunteers on Wednesday, November 20 from 6:30 pm-8:30 pm. We are looking for volunteers to assist in the set-up, clean up and serving,  as well as 3 people willing to drive our 2 Vans and a bus. We hope to shuttle many people between LTES and CPC in a short time. Mountain View HS- 2 Student Needs. There is a need to assist 2 students and their families during the holiday season. They do not live in the Fairfax County area and are not covered by other holiday assistance programs. If you might be interested in hosting one of these families with food, Christmas gifts and some appropriate seasons clothing, let Kim Gilbert know at (  We are looking for financial assistance as well as shopping. Thank you for your consideration.
Cooking Class. Why not join us one or more months showing some of your cook skills, whether they are shortcuts, how to use a recipe, a healthy quick meal or even how to make a pie crust! Many of these students have not been exposed to many things we can teach them.  Barbara Plaster is coordinating the volunteers, coordinating activities and can answer any questions you might have about this special class.  Details and sign up today on our website or Contact Barbara Plaster  (

Missions Planning. The 4th Quarter Meeting is Sunday, November 3 (11:30 am-1 pm) at CPC. Do justice issues or homelessness burden you? Does your heartache for orphans or impoverished villages and those who do not yet know Jesus? Join us to plan CPC’s 2019-2020 missional engagement.

Christmas Lights. We have a BIG idea. What if we lit up Lee Highway along the CPC frontage area with Christmas lights? Wouldn’t it be awesome to be the beacon of Christmas cheer as the commuters hit the road at all times of early am / night? We are looking for someone to organize and coordinate this project. For more information, contact Kim Gilbert (
