Ready to get outside and help serve the community?

CPC’s vegetable garden is open and ready for your assistance! We look forward to a bountiful crop of fresh vegetables in the coming months. All the veggies we harvest are donated to local food pantries and shelters.

But first… we need to prep the beds, plant, weed, water, and oversee their growth. Want to help?

Our urban farmer, Sebastian Wilbern, has been busy tilling the beds and germinating the seeds. If the weather cooperates, the seedlings will go in the ground THIS weekend! Come on Friday evening (May 15, 6-8pm) and Saturday morning (May 16, 8-10am).

Here is the plan for the 2020 plantings:

Current garden chores include: Weeding the pathways between beds, laying black fabric and mulching, and tilling. Planting, weeding, and watering will start soon!

Ideas to Serve:

1 – Come over for an hour or two and weed the pathways.
2 – Weed the flower beds around the garden. The flowers bring the bees! We need pollinators for our vegetables.
3 – Pray for abundant crops. Pray for the future recipients of the vegetables.
4 – Adopt-a-bed. Pick one of the beds and come regularly to weed & care for it.
