The National Day of Prayer is a humbling and powerful time that we can stand together and pray for our country and present a unifying prayer to God for Him to reveal His will for our great country and the world that He has entrusted to us.
BUT…I get it. 6:00am is early. Especially when typically at the time you are packing lunches, making breakfast, and getting kiddos out the door. Trust me, I thought the same thing. This event is important, PRAYER is important. How can we be a part of it while still in our homes and share this time with our children? Here are just two ideas below that you can incorporate into your your day on this Thursday. Don’t stop after Thursday! These prayer activities can be a part of your daily prayer life with your children.

- Pipe Cleaner Prayers – Grab some pipe cleaners, or the fancy term “chenille stems”, and mold them into the shape that is symbolic for a person, thing, and/or situation that you are praying about. It could be as simple as using the first letter of someone’s name. Then, put it in a spot that you frequently look at during the day to remind you to talk to God about it. At the end of the day or the end of the week, you could reshape it into a different prayer. You could even take each pipe cleaner and twist it on to something in your home as a easy “prayer wall” for your family.
