We invite our CPC family and friends to join us as we remember and celebrate the Lent season. Lent, in the Christian church, a period of penitential preparation for Easter. It begins on Ash Wednesday, six and a half weeks before Easter, and provides for a 40-day fast (Sundays are excluded), in imitation of Jesus Christ’s fasting in the wilderness before he began his public ministry.
Ash Wednesday, Wednesday, March 2nd is the first day of Lent, occurring six and a half weeks before Easter. Ash Wednesday is a solemn reminder of human mortality and the need for reconciliation with God and marks the beginning of the penitential Lenten season.
