Taking the Gospel to Our Neighborhoods.
Mission is not a trip. Mission is not an organization. It doesn’t just happen in another country. Mission happens whenever, wherever you are. You are walking coordinates – on mission every day.
As followers of Jesus we are commissioned to share the gospel “to the ends of the earth.” We are also called to engage with our co-workers, neighbors, and family to reflect the character of Jesus in our everyday life.
What if as a church our evangelistic efforts would be geared toward engaging the culture of those in our communities, in the Northern Virginia area with the Good News of restoration and hope, as well as reaching unchurched people in our community.
Imagine…A church full of Christ followers whose hearts break for the things of that break the heart of God.
Imagine…A LifeGroup full of people yearning to follow Jesus’ command to love their neighbor..
Imagine…An area full of LifeGroups who dare to believe they can change a neighborhood by sharing the love of Christ in a practical way.
Imagine…yourself connected to something bigger than yourself.
That’s the imagination that fueled Jesus’ final words on earth.
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” – Acts 1:8
So for six weeks beginning June 25, we will have a series that LifeGroup will follow with a sermon-based curriculum that seeks to answer the questions, “Who is my neighbor?” and “How do I love them?
The semester will culminate with every LifeGroup prayerfully and creatively blessing their neighborhood. Keep tuned in to get involved.
