Summer is nearly upon us. As the season changes, new routines open new opportunities. Would you be able to join us as we serve partners locally and around world?
June, July and August offer numerous opportunities for us to be active with our ministry partners. The needs are abundant. Would you pray about joining us?
Breakfast at the Lamb Center (first Saturdays). Up to six people can sign up to help serve breakfast. If you cannot join us, we also need food donated (apples, oranges, casseroles, yogurts, and hard boiled eggs).
Lunch at the Lamb Center (third Tuesday). We bring eight pot roasts to the Lamb Center each month. The recipe is super easy (really)! Sign-up to bring the casserole to CPC by Monday evening and we’ll bake them all on Tuesday.
Habitat for Humanity. Our Prince William partner has numerous opportunities to come alongside individuals and families in our community. Their volunteer calendar makes finding the best times to serve easy! Needs include serving in the ReStore as well as doing light construction (instruction provided).
God’s Garden. The vegetables in our garden have sprouted! We have a couple more beds to plan to plant. We’d love your help. Contact the Head Gardener Sebastian Wilbern at sebsaccount@gmail.com for more details. He would love to chat with you.
Plarn. What’s “plarn”? It’s plastic yarn! And, we need lots. 🙂 We are making plarn mats for New Hope Fellowship. Would you be able to make plastic yarn? Would you be able to crochet the plarn? The pattern is easy. It’s a bit time-consuming, yes, but the recipients are deeply grateful! Contact Carol Wallace at carol.k.wallace@gmail.com for more information.
Gifts of the Heart. Needs exist around our planet to care for displaced people. Victims of earthquakes and famine along with refugees are in desperate need of assistance. Gather family and friends together to make hygiene kits, clean-up buckets, or school supply kits. You will be impacting people far and wide. Bring the kits to CPC and we will deliver them to the regional distribution center.
WFCM. Western Fairfax Christian Ministries comes alongside families in our community who are struggling through poverty and homelessness. They need volunteers for the food pantry, grocery store pick-up, and front desk receptionists. Details are listed here.
Thank you for connecting with our ministry partners. Whether local or global, crisis oriented or sustainable outreach, our outreach connects with the needs of people. Won’t you join us?
If you would like to chat further about ways to match your gifts and talents with the needs of others please contact our Director of Missions Sharon Hoover (sharon@cpceco.org).
