Sign up for a Community This Sunday! A new season of our community groups kick off the week of September 10th! Small groups are an essential part of the Christian life as we all need encouragement, accountability, and community beyond Sunday morning worship services. The list of Life Groups and Bible Studies will be available in the lobby this Sunday or click here to find a group and sign up.
Fall Kick-Off & Picnic. We invite you and your family to join us on Sunday, September 10th at 11:30am for our annual Fall Kick-off & Picnic! It’s an excellent opportunity to reconnect and look forward to another season of Life Groups, Bible studies, and service opportunities this Fall. We’ll have a variety of fun activities and delicious food for everyone to enjoy. Click here to let us know if you plan to attend. If you’re willing to lend a hand, sign up as a volunteer here. We look forward to spending this special time with you!
Sunday Seminar – Martin Luther: The Man who Broke the Church. The most pivotal moment in Christian history was when this unknown monk rebelled against his government and even his church because they said he could not preach God’s Word. He risked his life and his movement changed the course of the entire world. We’ll meet Sunday mornings — Sept 17th, 24th, and Oct 1st — at 9am in Room 201.
Need for Pot Roasts. Every month we prepare a meal of pot roasts for the Lamb Center (day shelter for homeless men and women). Would you prepare one of the thirteen roasts for September 19? Bring fully assembled on Sunday, September 17 or bring hot to CPC by 10:00 am on September 19. A simple recipe is on the CPC sign-up page and on our website. Let us know on the Sign-up Genius form.
Elementary School Mentors. Would you be interested in working with needy children in our community? Two opportunities to serve at London Towne Elementary will begin soon. First, we will return to serve as 2nd Grade math tutors on Tuesdays (8:00-8:45am). Second, we will help with the after-school club, Girls On The Run. GOTR is seeking women to be running buddies with the girls. Contact Sharon Hoover (sharon@cpceco.org) if you might be interested in either outreach opportunities.
Extra freezer? We are looking for a used freezer for one of our Afghan refugee families. If you have one or know someone who might have one, would you please contact Carol Wallace (carol.k.wallace@gmail.com).
Women’s Conference Reminder. Have you signed up for Lumina yet? It’s going to be fun and exciting, a change of scenery and a chance to interact with other women of God! We’d love for you to be there October 27th and 28th, held at the Museum of the Bible. Click here for more information and to register.
