Ericksons. We are excited to welcome our Guatemala missionaries, Todd and Maureen Erickson, back to CPC this Sunday, September 17th. During both worship services, they will share updates about the ministry and all that God is doing in and around Antigua. Join us for lunch after service to hear more!
Sunday Seminar: “Martin Luther: The Man who Broke the Church.” The most pivotal moment in Christian history was when this unknown monk rebelled against his government and even his church because they said he could not preach God’s Word. He risked his life and his movement changed the course of the entire world. We’ll meet Sunday mornings — Sept 17th, 24th, and Oct 1st — at 9am in Room 201.
Newcomers Meet & Greet. If you’re new to CPC and would like to know more about us, please join us for our Newcomers Meet & Greet, next Sunday Sep 24th at 11:45am, after 2nd service, in the foyer. Nursery care will be provided.
CPC 101. If you have been visiting CPC and thinking about becoming a member, please join us Oct 1st at 11:45am in Rm 101. We’d love to tell you more about what we’re all about. Lunch and childcare will be provided. Please RSVP to Paul (Paul@cpceco.org).
Life Groups & Bible Studies. There’s still time to find a group that fits your location and schedule! Small groups are an essential part of the Christian life as we all need encouragement, accountability and community beyond Sunday morning worship services. Click here to register for a group.
Need for Pot Roasts. Every month we prepare a meal of pot roasts for the Lamb Center (day shelter for homeless men and women). Would you prepare one of the thirteen roasts for September 19? Bring fully assembled this Sunday or bring hot to CPC by 10:00 am on September 19. A simple recipe is on the CPC sign-up page and on our website. Let us know on the Sign-up Genius form.
Men’s Ministry Battlefield Hike. Open to all CPC men and their sons, this is a great opportunity for fellowship with some exercise and history thrown in! Meet at CPC at 9 AM, then carpool over to Manassas Battlefield to park at the Deep Cut lot on Featherbed Road and explore another section of the 2nd Manassas battle (along the unfinished railroad cut area), as well as the Sudley Springs Ford crossing that was a key part of 1st Manassas. Please bring your own water and snacks. Contact Mike Kershner, Joe Bishop, or Dave Arnold with any questions.
Women’s Conference. Have you signed up for Lumina yet? It’s going to be fun and exciting, a change of scenery and a chance to interact with other women of God! Held at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C, on October 27th and 28th, we’ll enjoy a curated tour on Friday afternoon and participate in the worship and amazing conference speakers on Saturday. Lunch is provided. The conference fee also includes an Annual Membership to the Museum of the Bible! Click here for more information and to register.
Elementary School Mentors. Would you be interested in working with needy children in our community? Two opportunities to serve at London Towne Elementary will begin soon. First, we will return to serve as 2nd Grade math tutors on Tuesdays (8:00-8:45am). Second, we will help with the after-school club, Girls On The Run. GOTR is seeking women to be running buddies with the girls. Contact Sharon Hoover (sharon@cpceco.org) if you might be interested in either outreach opportunities.
Baptism Sunday. Our next Baptism Sunday is scheduled for October 8th during 2nd service. If you, a family member, or someone you know is interested in being baptized, please contact Karen Wroniewicz at karen@cpceco.org. If you have any questions, Aaron or Paul would love to talk with you.
