English Class and Children’s Homework Room. This week, we begin English Classes for the parents of London Towne Elementary School. The class meets at LTES on Wednesdays, 7-8:00pm (October 18-December 13). Would you consider joining our team? We especially need volunteers for the Children’s Homework room. Contact Sharon Hoover (sharon@cpceco.org).

CPCKids Sunday Social. CPCKids families, remember to mark your calendars to attend our Sunday Social next Sunday, October 22nd, following the 10:30am service. We will gather in 206 to spend time together and get into the fall spirit with some treats & activities. Join us!

Student Ministry-Fall Retreat. Students (grades 6-12) join us on November 3rd-5th at Joy-El, a private Christian camp located in Greencastle, PA. A fun weekend of fellowship and worship! Visit cpceco.info/retreat and register by 10/20. Questions? Contact Jackson (jacksohpolizzi@gmail.com).

Deacons and Donuts This Sunday, Oct 15th. At CPC we have Deacons, men and women who lead us in being a place where people are cared for and known.  Each of us, even the pastors, have a Deacon that prays for them, checks in from time to time and when life gets hard, steps in to help.  Next week before and after worship our Deacons will be in the gathering area with Duck Donuts and would love to meet you.  So, save some room for a treat and a couple minutes to say hello to your Deacon next Sunday.

Need for Pot Roasts. Every month we prepare a meal of pot roasts for the Lamb Center (day shelter for homeless men and women). Would you prepare one of the thirteen roasts for October 17? Bring fully assembled on Sunday, October 15 or bring hot to CPC by 10:00 am on October 17. A simple recipe is on the CPC sign-up page and on our website. Let us know on the Sign-up Genius form.

Newcomers Meet & Greet Next Sunday. If you’re new to CPC and would  like to know more about us, please join us for our New Comers Meet & Greet, next  Sun Oct. 22nd after both services, in the foyer.

Help needed at WFCM. On November 4th, the local Scouts pick up food donated by our neighbors. Our neighbors have donated 50,000+ lbs. during this one-day large scale food collection and it requires a number of volunteers at the Boy Scout sort site (14280 Park Meadow Drive, Chantilly). If you are able to volunteer, please sign up here.

November Sunday Seminar Series: “God in the Workplace.” Americans on average spend more time in the workplace than anywhere else. How should faith in Christ change the way we approach those jobs and the way we survive them?

  • God in the Courtroom (November 5th): Bob Bever will share from his experience testifying in over 150 murder trials. Bob was one of the pioneers in the use of DNA in forensics (he invented the cheek swab)
  • God in the Classroom (November 12th): Charles Forrest and Renee Miller have faced a uniquely difficult cultural and economic battleground in their time serving as principals of public schools in Northern Virginia.
  • God in the Crisis Zone (November 19th): Tony Polizzi has done things. Some he can talk about. Some he cannot.

Paper Product Plus Collection. Next time you go to the grocery store, would you pick-up paper supplies for the Lamb Center (day shelter for the homeless)? They need sturdy paper plates and bowls, plastic cutlery, cold & hot beverage cups (8oz), paper towels, 13-gallon trash bags with drawstrings, and more. List available at the Connection Center or click the link here. Items are needed by October 31.

Communications Survey. Thank you to those of you who took a moment to complete CPC’s communications survey! We greatly value your input and patience as we are working on implementing new changes for more simplified, centralized communication and a brand new website! There is still time to take the survey and give your anonymous feedback if you haven’t already. Results of the survey thus far, can be found here.
