Little Lambs Ministry. Have you heard of the Little Lambs Ministry here at CPC? We are a group of knitters and crocheters who create blankets and shawls for members in need of a tangible way of being wrapped in God’s love. The items are prayed over before being delivered to a recipient and love is knit into every stitch. We would love to bless you with one of our lovely items. We have baby blankets for new babies. We also have lap blankets or shawls for those perhaps recovering from an illness or surgery, on bed rest, are going through a difficult time or have lost someone special. To request a blanket or shawl, please contact your deacon or Karen Wroniewicz in the front office. If you have any questions or would like to join our team of fiber artists, please contact Susan Blair at SusanDBlair@aol.com.
Paper Product Plus Collection. Next time you go to the grocery store, would you pick-up paper supplies for the Lamb Center (day shelter for the homeless)? They need sturdy paper plates and bowls, plastic cutlery, cold & hot beverage cups (8oz), paper towels, 13-gallon trash bags with drawstrings, and more. List available at the Connection Center or click the link here. Items are needed by October 31.
Student Ministry Parent Meeting this Sunday. We will have a parent meeting right after the 10:30 AM service to get input from parents about the student ministry. We will also be talking about major revisions to the student ministry, in particular the high school students. We look forward to seeing you in Room 201!
Sunday Seminar: “Martin Luther: The Man who Broke the Church.” Our final meeting for this series is this Sunday, Oct 1st at 9am in Room 201. The most pivotal moment in Christian history was when this unknown monk rebelled against his government and even his church because they said he could not preach God’s Word. He risked his life and his movement changed the course of the entire world.
CPC 101 new members class has been cancelled. We look forward to having class in the coming weeks. If you have any questions or want to know more about CPC, please email Pastor Paul at paul@cpceco.org.
Fun Friday Oct 6th. Calling all 4th to 6th graders! Wondering what Fun Friday is? Well, it’s FUN! We hang out with friends, make new ones, play games… and Fun Friday is NEVER complete without a couple rounds of GROG. What’s not fun about running around the church in the dark? Our first Fun Friday is Oct 6th 7:00-8:30pm. Fill out the Permission form ahead of time. Once filled out, you are good for all future Fun Fridays. Questions? Contact Jill (jill@cpceco.org).
Need for Pot Roasts. Every month we prepare a meal of pot roasts for the Lamb Center (day shelter for homeless men and women). Would you prepare one of the thirteen roasts for October 17? Bring fully assembled on Sunday, October 15 or bring hot to CPC by 10:00 am on October 17. A simple recipe is on the CPC sign-up page and on our website. Let us know on the Sign-up Genius form.
Many thanks for the donations. Coats & Hoodies: We received 69 coats for students at local high schools. The school counselors are immensely grateful! Thank you also to Ella Murray who came every week to sort and organize the donations. Reading Glasses: We gathered over 400 glasses for vision-challenged older people in Indonesia. Thanks Bradley Johannes for leading our church in this!
Women’s Conference. Lumina is on its way. Ladies our time to relax, retreat, reconnect, and engage in relationship. Lumina is sure to be a great gathering of women, Christian speakers, musicians and a tour of the museum of the Bible. Held on October 27th and 28th, we’ll enjoy a curated tour on Friday afternoon and participate in the worship and amazing conference speakers on Saturday. Lunch is provided. The conference fee also includes an Annual Membership to the Museum of the Bible! Click here for more information and to register.
