HAPPENING THIS SUNDAY
Middle School Family Sunday Morning. This Sunday we will not have Middle School youth group so that students can have the opportunity to take communion with their families. We will be back next week with a continuation of our message series on Finding the Truth.
Middle School and High School Sunday Night. Our message and breakouts for the month of December will be a short series on apologetics called Cold Case Christianity. Join us 6:00-7:30pm to learn how to “solve” the mystery of Jesus’ death and resurrection!
Movie Night. Men of CPC, step up to the plate and invite your life partner out for a date. On Sunday, 4 December at 4 pm, CPC men can take their spouses out for a night at the movies. We will gather at the Fairfax Corner Cinemark theater to see “I Heard the Bells,” the story of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and his composition of the eponymous Christmas hymn. Come and join us to celebrate the life of a great American and Christian. Please let Mike Kershner (kershnermi@gmail.com) or Dave Arnold (davidrarnold1@aol.com) know if you plan to come.
MINISTRY UPDATES
Men’s Group Meeting at CPC. On Sunday, December 11th we will meet up in room 201 right after the second service for a light lunch and calendar year 2023 events planning. Please join in and bring your ideas on where you’d like to see this important ministry go in the coming year!
2022 Christmas Offering. This year we turn our attention to the work of the Haymarket Regional Food Pantry (HRFP). Food insecurity remains a critical issue in our community. Next week we welcome Eileen Smith, HRFP Executive Director, to tell us more about the work they do. Would you join us as we come alongside HRFP to meet the food insecurity needs of hundreds of families every week? More information and the giving link is on our CPC website.
Giving Tree. The Christmas Giving Tree in the lobby displays special gift request “ornaments” for gift bag items for homeless women, gift cards for vulnerable teens, and household items for newly housed families. All gifts are needed by December 15th. Thank you so much!
Call for December Pot Roasts and Water. Would you prepare one of the ten roasts or bring waters for December 20? Bring fully assembled on Sunday, December 18 or bring hot to CPC by 10:30am on December 20. A simple recipe is on the CPC sign-up page and on our website. Let us know on the Sign-up Genius form.
CPC Student Ministry Christmas Party. December 18th, 6pm-8pm. We will be hosting a Christmas party at the church in lieu of evening youth group. Come ready for a fun night of music, cookies, games, and ugly sweaters! More details to come.
2023 Short-term Mission Teams. Would you join us to serve with one of our mission partners? In 2023, we hope to send three teams to the field (West Virginia, Guatemala, and Zambia). Register and save your spot by the end of December. Questions? Contact Dir of Missions Sharon Hoover (sharon@cpceco.org).
New At CPC. Want to get connected at CPC? Come join our pastors for our monthly meeting this Sunday, December 11th after church to hear more about life in our church family! Lunch and childcare provided.
