Mens Ministry Cookout & Cornhole. Our Men’s Ministry is gathering at CPC next Saturday, August 19th at 11am for their 2nd Annual Cookout & Cornhole Tournament. Aug 13th Sunday Seminar at 9am. Join us with this Sunday with Pastor Aaron McMillan at 9am in Room 201 as we conclude our Summer Leadership Series exploring what makes a great Christian leader.
Fall Leaders Launch. On August 26th, join us for one of the most important events of the year: our annual Leaders Launch! We will do some critical training, organization, and vision casting for the work God will do through us this coming year. Will meet in Room 206 from 9am to 11am. Light refreshments and childcare will be provided.
Newcomers Meet & Greet Next Sunday. If you’re new to CPC and would like to know more about us, please join us for our New Comers Meet & Greet, next Sunday, August 20th, at 11:45am after 2nd service in the foyer. Nursery will be provided.
Coat Collection. During the month of August we are collecting new and gently-used coats, jackets, and hooded sweatshirts for local teens in impoverished families. Counselors at Westfield High School and Stone Middle School noted that most needed are Adult Large sizes, but also adult Medium and X-Large would be most welcome (and in dark colors). Drop off in the designated box in CPC’s lobby. Thank you!
Reading glasses and children’s books. This month, we are also collecting new reading glasses (in all strengths) for the church in Indonesia, as well as collecting children’s books teaching Bible stories. All donations are needed by August 31st. Questions? Contact Bradley Johannes (elvjoh@msn.com).
Elementary School Mentors. Would you be interested in working with needy children in our community? Two opportunities to serve at London Towne Elementary will begin soon. First, we will return to serve as 2nd Grade math tutors on Tuesdays (8:00-8:45am). Second, we will help with the after-school club, Girls On The Run. New Ministry Opportunity. Would you be available to deliver pot roasts to the Lamb Center? With our rotation, each team member delivers once a quarter. The commitment is 10:00am – 11:30am on the 3rd Tuesday of your month, which includes wrapping and picking up the pot roasts at CPC then driving them to the Lamb Center in Fairfax. Life Groups Launch Sept 10th. Looking for community centered around God and scripture? Join a Life Group! There are groups designed for all areas of life and in several locations for your convenience. Meetings will begin Sept 10th. More group details to come.
Lumina Women’s Conference Reminder. Lumina is on its way! A time to relax, retreat, reconnect, and engage in relationships.
