This is the time of year our houseless brothers and sisters move back outside. The No-Turn-Away Policy has ended at the local homeless shelters. Many of our impoverished brothers and sisters have returned to the outdoors and/or cars. Some are in need of camping equipment until they are able to step into transitional housing.
Our mission partner, Pastor Pat Deavers with New Hope Fellowship, notes that “tents, sleeping bags, tarps, camping stoves, flashlights, battery operated radios and fans, batteries, and lanterns would be greatly welcomed and appreciated. Perhaps you have some equipment that you and your family no longer use or you are in a position to donate new equipment. Remember: This is not recreational camping; this is survival camping. If you have anything in their basement or garage that they would like to donate, we would be very grateful.”
If you are able to assist, please bring items to CPC. Place your items in the lobby hallway just past the Connection Center. What a wonderful way to bring the truth of the unconditional love of our Resurrected Lord to the people He loves so dearly!
“May our Lord bless you as you serve our brothers and sisters in need.”
