Shawl Ministry

Our meeting is a wonderful time of fellowship, prayers and a way to give your time and talents to serve and care for others in the community. We meet on the third Tuesday of each month from 7 to 9 PM at CPC.  If you are interested, please contact Susan Blair for more information and to be included on the email list.

No matter what they are called, “Prayer Shawls”, “Comfort Shawls”, “Peace Shawls” or “Mantles”, the shawl consoles those who are grieving, comforts those who are ill, and brings hope to those who are in despair.

Beginning knitting skills are all that is required. The knitter begins each shawl with prayers and blessings for the recipient. These prayers are continued throughout the creation of the shawl. When the shawl is completed, it is offered a final ritual before being sent along its way.

Donations for this ministry are warmly accepted in monetary form or gift cards to AC Moore or Michael’s Craft stores.
