Communicating better with our teens

Are you a parent?  Are you in the midst of or approaching the teenager years?  We have an adult Sunday School class for you!  The Five Love Languages of a Teenager begins Sunday, November 6th at 10am.

I started with Gary Chapman’s book “The Five Love Languages of a Teenager” more than a year ago and it was instrumental in helping my husband and I communicate better with our twin boys, who had just turned 14 and with our daughter, who was 10, turning 11.  The kids all completed a survey to find out their primary love language and I still find myself referring to what I learned from those surveys when talking with my husband and kids today.

This summer, some neighbors and I did the DVD series and workbook together – the same DVD and workbook you’ll be using in the 7-week class.  We all came away with some very useful insights and tools for the road we are traveling.  My neighbors’ favorite part was surveying their families to find everyone’s primary love language – just as my family enjoyed doing the same thing the summer before.

Each class will be 45 minutes long – starting at 10am and finishing in time to pick-up your children from Sunday School.  Each class will include a 15 minute video with Gary Chapman that’s fun and engaging.  The class uses the Parent Study Guide which will be available at class for $3 each.  You do not need to purchase the book, only the Parent Study Guide.  You are welcome to come for 1 class at any point or all 7 – whatever your schedule allows.
